Sci-fi movies would have us feel that robotics will be dominating our way of life. Recent movies like I, Robot plus a.I. offer exciting glimpses in a potential future where humans and robots live, but we're still decades far from that. While giant strides in computers and miniaturization have rooted robotics into mainstream manufacturing and delivery of commercial products, there's still a lot to learn. We want a minimum of another generation or two before robotic engineering could make robots as fashionable as your PCs both at home and at work.
